International Fruit Juice school awards " Rainers juice from apples "

The happy prize-winners Reinhold and Rainer Moebus

The apple juice with the best flavor commercially available in German-speaking countries comes from Bad Rodach. This is the opinion of the participants of the International Fruit Juice Week 1999 in Karlsruhe/Germany. The Liquid Fruit team preselected 120 juices from a total of approx. 1200 different apple juices. Subsequent blinded testing finally produced 12 juices which were presented to the experts at IFW 1999.

A clear majority of testers voted for Rainers juice from apples manufactured by thy company Rodacher Fruchtsäfte GmbH .

By awarding this special prize the International Fruit Juice School intends to show how new ground can be broken in the production of higher quality fruit juices. In future, the prize will be awareded on a yearly basis, also to address quality-conscious consumers. The testing included both direct juices and juices from concentrate as well as clear and cloudy juices.

The awarded Rodacher Fruchtsäfte GmbH is a small, innvative fruit juice company. The cider mill founded by Georg Backert in 1930 has now specialized in the production of apple juice from various local sorts of fruits and other high-quality fruit juices. Worldwide, it is the only company that produces potassium-reduced apple juice (trade name: " NEPHROPOM " ) for dialysis patients.

The awarded Rainers juice from apples has been named after the present managing director Rainer Moebus.
